It is so wonderful to see you here today! We have been pinning, saving, and gathering the good stuff for you all week, and we’re pumped to share our favorite finds with you inside. If you’ve been looking for a new superfood smoothie, maybe the motivation to make a big change (or small shift), your next novel, or a new binge-worthy series, we have all of it (and more!) in Scrolls today. PS – don’t leave before you tap to the end – we have a Pack announcement to let you in on!

Making.

RESET & RECHARGE SUPER SMOOTHIE – great for liver detox, digestion, and energy boost!
  • 1 cup frozen organic spinach
  • 1/2 cup zucchini
  • 1/2 cup frozen organic pineapple
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 1 T. ground chia seeds
  • 1 T. ground flax
  • 1 cup organic coconut milk
  • swirl of sweetener of choice: agave nectar, honey or my go-to, maple syrup

Well-blended for well-being!!

Reading.

The Ice Cream Queen of Orchard Street is such a treat. It is a giant scoop of historical fiction topped with delicious writing and a thoughtful drizzle of character development. It chronicles the life of Lillian Dunkle, who immigrated to America from Russia as a child in the early 20th century. I thoroughly enjoyed the tales from her younger years (the imagery is so wonderfully vivid, albeit heartbreaking), much more than the present day snippets they wove in through each chapter. However, once this novel sucks you in, you can’t imagine not hearing the rest of her story. Full disclosure: it felt a little slower than some of the recent beach reads I’ve devoured, but in my opinion the writing was superior, and the story more intimate and intricate, making it well worth the extra time. 8.6 ⭐️

Watching.

This came up every time we opened Netflix, but I didn’t realize it was a new series, not the movie. Have you seen The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey? I loved the original, and now this show takes it to a new level. The lead actor is fantastic, and it feels like you’re seeing a great book come to life (which is actually the case!). If you enjoy legal thrillers, crime solving, and a great drama – this one’s for you.

And on the Watch It note, we also took Grey to his very first movie (and my first in 7 years!) – Top Gun: Maverick. It was PHENOMENAL. The acting! The cinematography! Tom Cruise can be a pretty polarizing guy off-screen, but that aside, there’s little doubt about what an incredible actor he is. I would go see it again, that’s how much I loved it. Have you seen it?! If not, we 10/10 recommend!

Listening.

The power of *one more*. I listened to this immensely powerful conversation with Ed Mylett on a dog walk this week. It was 100 degrees, full sweaty sun, and the neighbors probably thought I was down for the count with heat stroke because I kept nodding my head and talking out loud to myself 😅. Maybe you don’t have a full hour to listen, but do you have 20 minutes? Start at the 11 minute mark and you’ll get right to the good stuff.

The biggest takeaways for me: 1) Keep your promises to yourself – it is the only way to build true self confidence, and self worth. 2) Do what you say you’re going to do – plus ONE MORE. You’re going to work out for 30 minutes? Make it 31. You’re going to call your Grandma? Call your mom, too. Saying I love you to your person? Say it one more time. You can apply it to absolutely anything – one more page in the book, one more compliment to a stranger, one more bite of vegetables. I’m going to make it my personal mission to do one more this summer, and I can’t wait to report back. You too?
