Sunday Scrolls: September 10th

Today’s Scrolls is a special one with a series we can’t get enough of, a cozy movement trend, spot-on wisdom for the week ahead, and a milestone we’re celebrating this weekend! We’re so thankful you’re here. Everything is better with friends!

Meals

This series isn’t just about what centenarians eat, (though I did find some fantastic morsels to weave into meals) but plays out a full picture of the vitality of the Blue Zones through their meals, movement, mindset and more. It is thoughtfully done and such a beautiful guidebook where we can take a piece here and there and tuck it into our wellness arsenal to test new practices and protocols that might work for us. 10/10 recommend!

Movement

I’ll admit that when I first read this article I had the beginnings of an eye roll. If we’re making cardio “cozy”, are we really working out? But when I gave it a second, it makes so much sense. A big YES to creating the kind of environment that makes you want to move your body! If romanticizing exercise and lighting candles for a workout works for you, then I’m all about it. What I’m taking from this new fitness trend is the power of making your fitness space something you look forward to…however that looks for you!

Mindset

The slideshow below, and one more – I bookmarked, screenshotted, and emailed this to myself to read again and again. 50 tiny, actionable ways to live a better life. So good!

My mom is celebrating a big birthday later this week and since we couldn’t be in New York to love on her, we did the next best thing by spending the day here smooching adoptable animals, and donating to their incredible mission to save them all. If you know Barb, you know her life-long dedication to animals and rescue work. When you find yourself in Utah, I know you will love a visit to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary – 6,000 dreamy, magnificent acres of inspiration – in both the animals and the views!

And another sentimental milestone – yesterday we celebrated 17 years of marriage that created our favorite human on the planet, 6 extraordinary rescue pups, 9 joy-filled homes and an abundance of adventure, gratitude and pure JOY. No one makes me laugh like Jon and he is without question, the better half 💙. I hope you hug your people, celebrate the love in your life, and have the most beautiful week!
