Hooray! I’ve been looking forward to this all week. How are you feeling today? We are so excited to share the meals, movement and mindset motivation we’ve been testing and tucking away to make it the most well + joyful end of the year. And please give the meal idea a chance πŸ˜…. Your digestive system will thank you, really!!

Meals

Allow me one sentence to convince you to linger here a little longer: If you’re looking for a meal that will warm your body this winter, nourish you wholly, boost energy, immunity, and provide a complete source of protein that is easily and wonderfully digested — then you must try kitchari! Plus, it is oh so delish and you can make a big batch and warm up to have lunch ready for the week.

And woohoo – good health news for my vegan peeps πŸ™ŒπŸ½, including some scrumptious protein-packed recipes to try.

If you’re looking to incorporate more smoothies into your diet, we’re stripping it down and keeping it as simple as possible to get your nutrients in one gulp — start here.

Movement

I read this fantastic new study about seasonal depression, and proven methods to get through the highs and lows that come with this time of year. Would you believe that research showed people who do hot yoga once a week reported their symptoms of depression reduced by 50%?! And not only that, but 44% of those who kept their weekly yoga practice up for 8 weeks (only 2 months!) were considered to be in remission from depression. That is incredible!

Even if you’re not feeling any depressive symptoms, or if you’re still not totally sold on yoga, I implore you to consider giving it a try <<look at all of these mind + body benefits!>> . I’m in it for the better posture and sleep! I know a class can feel daunting (if you’re an introvert like me, or just trying something for the first time) so here are a few great ones I found online.

Mindset

A little something for all of us in this month’s mindset slideshow. Tap through to see which one fits your current mood best:

And on that note, if you’re looking for an incredible, wildly worthy cause to support – here are a few we show love to year-round: Mazie’s Mission (we adore them and it’s oh so hard not to adopt another), by sponsoring an animal at Best Friends Sanctuary (we were so grateful to visit in person this year!), and Meal Train for Collin House to cook a warm meal for children waiting for foster homes (such a rewarding way to support a mission – I hope you can do something like this in your area!).

I LOVE the idea of a DIY present, especially for the person who has everything. Homemade is such a GIFT!
