January Joy Jolts (a photo diary)

When you look for the good, you will find it. And even though this month didn’t seem particularly groundbreaking, we found so many reasons to be grateful. Here’s a look at our January joylights:

Grey the Great turned 8 this month and while it might not always be fun having a birthday right after the holidays, I loved that it gave us all something to look forward to during the January Blues. Grey got his first haircut in years, was loved on from friends and family near & far, and we surprised him by taking him to the Great Wolf Lodge for some winter waterpark fun. There really isn’t a better feeling than when your kid tells you it’s the best day of their life 🥹. Time is speeding by and I’m dangling by my fingertips on the bumper begging it to slow down.

Next month we’re hosting Jon’s parents for a week and I am so excited to hug them! It’s hard being far away from family, especially for all of the micro moments that happen on a daily basis that you wish they got to see: Grey rehearsing for weeks in preparation for his taekwondo belt test, Jon coaching basketball, walks through the nature preserve, a particularly scrumptious sweet potato soup. I know you know that feeling. I hope your month was filled with countless joy jolts and warm squeezes, and we can’t wait to see you tomorrow for Sunday Scrolls! ((you do not want to miss the easiest, most ridiculously delicious bread recipe!)) XO, Kaylea, Jon and Grey
