Sunday Scrolls: March edition

I have a pretty good story to tell you about what we did the last six months but it doesn’t have a proper ending yet, so I’ll wait to share until next time. I have been thinking about you and the invisible load we all carry, and in case no one told you yet today – you are resilient, you are brave, and the world is so much better with you in it. So let’s make life even sweeter with a slice of carrot cake, a NASA-approved workout that’s more effective (and more fun!) than jogging, and a bevy of fantastic finds with joyful friends:

Meals

I gave up snacks and dessert for Lent this year and oh boy am I missing the sugar ๐Ÿ˜…. It’s been so good for me to see how often I reach for a sweet treat and start to swap that habit for better ones like anti-inflammatory teas, and more protein, fat and fiber at meals to keep me satiated. With that being said ๐Ÿ˜†, I am already eyeing this scrumptious carrot cake recipe to make on Easter Sunday that my friend Jen shared with me:

I love that it is absolutely loaded with fresh ingredients, won’t spike our blood sugar, and still tastes like a treat!

Movement

A study by NASA found that rebounding is 68% more effective than jogging. It’s also incredible for our lymphatic system. Sometimes we rebound just for fun, and sometimes I like to play this YouTube (workout starts at the 2 minute mark).

Here is the trampoline we use and love!

Mindset

What do you think about the father’s advice on the last slide? I’m here for it, and one of the reasons I won’t give up my books despite Jon’s pleas every time he has to move them to a new house. They are my treasures! (On that note, I came across this great article on How To Get Back Into Reading – I love the book date idea)
