Sunday Scrolls: August 13th

You make this space so much fun. I look forward to sharing this slice of Sunday with you all week! Today, we’re on the move and savoring sweet meals, moving our bodies in new ways (I think you’re going to be into this fitness trend!), and golden nuggets of wisdom to pin for when you need a boost. One of my favorite Scrolls this summer and we can’t wait to see you inside:

Meals

I’ve gotten into a bit of a, let’s call it a pattern instead of a rut 😆, with meals, and lost some of the joy that comes with food. I think that happens often, especially when you have restrictions from food allergies and just stick with the tried & trues. One of the things I love most about traveling is experiencing meals through a new lens. I had a big aha with this breakfast – a spirulina smoothie (it tasted like mint chip ice cream!) and gluten free oatmeal with clean vegan protein – absolutely melt-in-your-mouth decadent and super filling. The takeaway was – take the extra minute to make your plate beautiful today. Slice the fruit, swirl the almond butter, sprinkle the coconut. You deserve it, and you end up eating slower (better for digestion!), and it feels like a treat!

Movement

I’m very into the rucking movement that seems to be everywhere I look. I love that it’s accessible to many of us (we just need a backpack and some weight in it), and it’s a low-impact, high-cardio, hugely beneficial way to move our bodies. Did you know we can burn more calories walking with weight than running?! Look at all of these health benefits 🤯💪🏼. And best of all, it’s free!

Mindset

Getting back to the basics, questioning old habits, shedding what no longer works, and feeding what does:

If you spend a lot of time in drying environments (the car, sun, travel!) this mist is a game-changing lifesaver. Jon teases me about it because I spray my face repeatedly in the car, but then he asks for a mist too 😅. It has eliminated the dry skin patches around my mouth/ nose.
