Part of the Pack: Team Body Project

By Kaylea

I wanted to do this interview more than anything to say thank you. It’s not every day you get to talk to someone whom you admire greatly, who created a global movement, someone whom, on many levels, changed your life. If you’ve been Part of the Pack with us for a while, you know how deep our love runs for Daniel and Alex, founders of Team Body Project. If you are looking for motivation of any kind – I know you will find it here today. We sing their praises at every opportunity, and feel so thankful to share a conversation with creator, and coach, Daniel Bartlett:

Meet Certified Trainer & Team Body Project Founder, Daniel Bartlett.

If you’re here because you’ve tried a TBP workout before, I want to start by assuring you: what you see on your screen is about as real as it gets. Daniel is exactly as he is during his workouts, and what I imagine to be as he is in real life as well. (Case in point: he graciously allowed me to interrupt our interview to quiet my barking dog, and made me feel completely at ease). He and Alex have built their business from a host of talents they amass together, but if I had to sum it up in one word, it would be authenticity.

My version of bringing joy is bringing who I am, where I am.

About Team Body Project.

Team Body Project, if you’re not familiar, was designed by both Daniel and his wife Alexandra (Alex), as real workouts for real people. They are online, on-demand home workouts you can do from anywhere, on any device. The best part about the fitness programs they offer, is that they are built with you in mind. Any level, any age. There are suggested modifications, options to boost your output, and you get out what you put into them.

On their YouTube as well as their member site, there are hundreds of workouts you can choose from – whether it be pilates with Alex, a Total workout with both Daniel and Alex, Beats or Real Start featuring team members, they even have workouts for seniors that can be done from a chair. Each workout is unique and exciting, and you can choose based on your goals, or the mood you find yourself in that day.

Our TBP Journey.

Did you start an online fitness program during quarantine? Same. I found Team Body Project in an attempt to recover after knee surgery, and build my strength back up again. We had tried several other at home workouts, but nothing stuck for me. I needed something that was low impact, but had great energy; something I’d want to come back to each day. We stumbled across their YouTube channel, and the rest was history. It was so empowering to see changes in my body each week. But the most impactful change of all was the mental shift that took place inside me. I started appreciating my body more than I ever had. Not for what it looked like, but for what it allowed me to do each day. Did you know the human heart beats 100,000 times a day? Multiply that by the amount of days you’ve been alive. When is the last time you thanked your heart?

You’ll hear Daniel say, “You are winning! Look at your magnificent body moving. You are capable!”. He encourages you every step of the way, and for me, gratitude was a major component. You see that with both Daniel and Alex, and soon, you feel it in yourself. Maybe your Stars look a little tighter. Perhaps your Scotties feel stronger. You get a little less winded on the next set of Touch & Raises. It was also about the time set aside for myself. I talk about that more here, but this was the first time since having our son (Grey), that I devoted time for me, and both my mental and physical health have benefited greatly.

With this movement, you may be doing it alone (or in our case, dragging Jon out of bed to start with me at 4am before the day gets hectic?), but you know you are not alone in this journey. Not only do you have your coaches, but you have the whole TBP team. You can see a little slice of yourself in all of them. It’s relatable. It’s doable. It’s CHANGE JUICE that works.

A global movement that feels like a tight-knit community.

By the way, if you only have 10 minutes today – this is my all time favorite mini workout with both Daniel and Alex. Their energy is contagious and you don’t even realize how much you’re getting done in such a short amount of time!

A sincere, heartfelt thank you to Daniel for his time, and for all that he and Alex do to empower, educate, and inspire the Body Project community each and every day!

Wonderful interview, and happy to be a part of the Team. Daniel and Alex and the other members are extended family for sure. Team Body Project helped me recover from Covid-19, and it is therapeutic for me both mentally and physically. I am a nurse, and this program is what got ME healthier. Excellent interview! My wife found their workouts this summer and we ended up becoming members late last year. Daniel, we love! When we see Alex is leading, it’s a love-hate relationship! We hit the play button anyway. ? I love that 10 min workout and the 17 min Move Beats.
    Shout out to Tarsh too!

    • nixonpack

Haha! YES! Daniel’s workouts go by much faster for me, but on Alex days I know I will appreciate the pain later on! And Tarsh is my favorite! Thank you for being here, Gregg! Keep up the incredible work!

  7. Marie Westrope

Truly wonderful interview! I too found TBP during the pandemic on YouTube and after a month there became a full member. The number one reason I joined TBP was because of the encouragement I felt and that I could do low impact because I was out of shape and overweight. Been going strong for nine months now, the longest I have ever stayed with a program, which is a testament to Daniel and Alex and TBP. Now, I feel stronger and healthier and I went from Level one to level four workouts. Not at my goal yet but still moving my magnificent body. Thank you and thanks to Daniel for this wonderful insight and encouragement in and of itself.

    • nixonpack

Good for you, Marie! That is incredible!! You are so right. I have never stuck with a program this long and all credit goes to Daniel and Alex. I am so glad you stopped by and took time out of your day to watch!

  8. Carolina Garcia

Totally agree with this interview and content. As I am from Mexico, I have learnt how to embrace my journey through workouts. As there are many available, I got really close with TBP methodology and, for me, both Alex and Daniel played everyday a crucial role to keep me pressing play. After more than two years, I have feel much better physically and mentally as now I do really believe it is not perfection what I am seeking for, but truly commitment to maintain my health for upcoming years. Thank you for portraying this with such dedication and examples about your life too… And thank you coaches, for developing a way and mindset that at least for me, has taught way more beyond the only “getting fit and loose pounds”

    • nixonpack

Carolina, you nailed it! That is exactly what it is – a commitment to a lifestyle change. I am so happy for you that you’ve found that! Thank you for stopping by and making time to read and watch!

  9. Rodney Wambeam

Thanks for the interview. At risk of being redundant, I too love Daniel and Alex. TBP has changed my life, and I look forward to it everyday. From the latest videos, it seems like they now film in Australia. I am correct in that? Anyway, so glad you talked to my hero. Thanks again.

    • nixonpack

Hi Rodney! Not redundant at all! I would read comments like this all day every day. It is so inspiring and empowering to know how many people are in this community together, and how grateful we all are for the work that Daniel and Alex do!

  10. Andrea Romero

Great interview! I also love TBP, I have done their YT videos over and over. Now I’m excited to do the videos in their website. I love the energy, encourgament and personality of Daniel. I work out and have fun too, who knew!

    • nixonpack

YES! And thank you so much for your wonderful words of encouragement, Andrea! Keep up the awesome job you’re doing!

  11. Natalie Hodgson

I love this. It truly shows just how genuine and normal Daniel is and his passion and energy shines through. What’s made me stick with TBP more than anything is how relatable they are and this just reconfirms that even more so.

    • nixonpack

I am with you, Natalie!! That’s exactly what keeps us coming back to TBP. Thank you so much for stopping by and keep up the great work!!
