This smoothie is on heavy rotation in our house. As a mom and a wellness counselor, I love the combination of phytonutrients, protein, fiber, and healthy fat. And as a person who lives for a sweet treat, I love that it tastes like ice cream 😆. Here’s how we make it:

benefits

Did you know blueberries reduce damage to our DNA? They help protect against aging, cancer, and a host of other diseases. They are packed with micronutrients that boost our brain function, heart health, and can even improve memory.

Cauliflower contains unique plant compounds that may reduce the risk of several diseases, including heart disease and cancer. It may also help our weight loss efforts, and is jam packed with nutrients many of us are lacking – like choline, which repairs DNA, prevents disease, aids digestion, and boosts metabolism.

We keep hearing that avocados are bursting with healthy fats, which we love. But did you also know that they supply more soluble fiber than any other fruit, and are loaded with iron, potassium, and copper? Another win for the avocado – this study found that they help keep us full for longer, which is why it’s one of my favorite additions to a smoothie (and the fact that it makes the texture smooth like ice cream!).

For boosters, I always love inulin (packed with fiber and helps regulate digestive processes), and the mushroom superfood is a major WIN for immune support, boosting longevity, and overall health!

And before you skip the little things like cinnamon or vanilla – the cinnamon is proven to reduce insulin resistance, which can help to regulate your blood sugar. And the vanilla has been shown to have wonderful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects!

Well-blended for well-being! Have a health goal you’re working toward and want a smoothie recipe tailored for you? Leave a comment below and I’ll send one over to you!
