Joy Jolts: 1st week of summer

Thankful for a lot to smile about this week. I absolutely believe that when you focus on the good, you start to see more of it. We have the reticular activating system in our brain to thank for that! And I must have been focused on animals this week because wait until you see #3 😍:

1. Jon’s famous pizza night

He’s learned to perfect it one-handed and it remains Grey’s favorite night of the week! PS – if you’re in the market for a pizza oven, we have been using the Ooni for two years (usually twice a week), and still love it as much as the day we got it!

2. Best buds

Their personalities are nearly identical: little tornadoes who love to snuggle 🥰.

3. Babies everywhere

We let Gemma out in the yard early one morning while we were working out, and it felt a little too quiet. Jon went out to check, and found her gently licking a baby bunny 😳. Thank God the baby was unharmed! I immediately dialed my mom (our resident animal expert) to find out what to do, and we were able to find the nest and put that tiny sweetness back in safely. Jon ran to Home Depot to buy fence material, and we made sure mama could get in, but Gemma would stay out.

The next day, a mama Mourning Dove made a nest in one of our planters and laid two eggs. She has been such a gift to watch each day!

4. Curb Appeal

Two houses I passed on neighborhood walks this week. Look at the light spotlighting the verse in the first photo, and the darling casita on the right. Which one is your favorite?

5. Library Haul

Tiny dirty finger nails are always a good sign in my opinion. This little boy is spending his summer either outside playing, or reaching for a book. He is such a joy and I want to savor every second!

What made you smile this week? Please take a second more to leave it in the comments. We love sharing in your JOY! See you back here on Sunday for a cup of coffee and some spectacular Scrolls!!
