Sunday Scrolls: November 28th

Nov 28, 2021 | Sunday Scrolls

We’ve been considering some life changes lately – should we buy a house with more land, should we adopt a dog, should we take on a new work project. It can be overwhelming to consider even one, let alone all šŸ˜†. But what I’m trying to focus on first is the pause between the action. The one where you look around, and realize everything you prayed so hard for, is right in front of you. Your people, your health, and the daily joy the little things bring. I hope today’s Scrolls can be that pause for all of us, to carve out a smile, find something new to test out, and sprinkle some spice into your Sunday. It’s a juicy one!

Making.

Tis the (cold) season. I just made a fresh batch of our wellness elixir last night and wanted to share again here in hopes it helps you as much as it helps us! We blend this together every weekend, then take a teaspoon a day throughout the week to fight all the germs that come with having a kid in school šŸ˜†. It’s anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and a powerhouse of goodness! If we’re running crazy and forget to make it, I not only see a difference in more sniffles, but I feel it too:

Watching.

Whenever we buy a premium channel for one of our favorite series, we try to find another to watch to “make it worth it” šŸ˜†. And since we had Showtime for Succession, we stumbled upon Ray Donovan and got sucked in pretty quickly. The Boston accent can feel a little forced in certain scenes, but otherwise, the acting is fantastic (particularly Liev Schreiber, Eddie Marsan and Jon Voight). If you’re into crime dramas with a fixer type focus a la Scandal or Flack, I know you’ll love it. PS – if you’ve already watched all of the seasons, did you see they’re coming out with a movie?

Reading.

Deeply painful and heartbreaking to read, but tinged with hope in such a pull that powers you through each page. I adored The Beekeeper of Aleppo for the shift in perspective it gifted to me; through the brave (gut-wrenching) journey of fleeing one’s home during war, the terror of losing those you love, and the loss (on many levels) along the way. The words flow so wonderfully, you feel you are on this harrowing ride along with them – a poignant piece for your next library run, or a great gift for the reader in your life! 9.7 āļø

Listening.

I know we heard a lot about gratitude this week, but I also know this is a community of people who practice year-round, not just for Thanksgiving. On that note, this was the most impactful deep dive on gratitude I’d heard in some time. The way Dr. Huberman breaks down a new study on the topic, and how we’ve been looking at it “wrong” was incredibly eye-opening. It’s more than just writing down what you’re thankful for, or even saying it out loud. If you have time this week – I think you’re going to love it, too.

Feeling.

Trying.

Our dental hygenist was insistent that this would be a game changer. Thankful for the sale price & will report back after we try it. Look at those reviews!

I stumbled upon this tiny greenhouse and ohmygoodness is it sweet. What a wonderful gift to foster imaginative play for littles!

An interesting study on intermittent fasting. I have read so many of them at this point and stick to what I have always said about consumption – do what works, and feels good, for you/ your body!

I am oohing and ahhhing all over this set, if only I had an occasion that called for it. Talk about angelic. It starts out pretty pricey, but with this week’s coupon codes you can get it down!

The next few weeks are sure to fly by, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate spending a few moments with you today. I hope you found something new to try, or inspiration for your week ahead. If I can do something to help you in whatever challenge you're facing, I would be thrilled to. Whether you're shopping for a certain someone and need a fun gift idea, or you're battling a health issue and want a custom smoothie recipe - maybe a few words of encouragement for a goal you're working on. Sometimes we just need a friend in our corner, and I feel so lucky to be in yours!
