This is such a heartbreaking week. On days like this, I find it hard to come with all of the smiles I try to pack into each post. But then I remember, if you’re feeling what I’m feeling, maybe a smile is just what we need in this moment. In today’s Scrolls you’ll find a classic movie Jon insisted I watch (after 30 years of somehow skipping it), a new smoothie recipe for healthy adrenal function, tons of inspiration for the week ahead; and also timely links, like how to talk to kids about current events π©, where we donated, and things that brought us joy when we needed it the most. We’re so thankful to share space with you today π:
I wish I had better words for Memorial Day. Something that conveyed the love, admiration, sheer gratitude and deep, sincere appreciation for the men and women who fought for us. And for the families who had to live in terror watching them leave, and not come home. Thank you doesn't feel like enough πΊπΈ.

Watching.
Would you believe I’ve never seen the original Top Gun? Jon couldn’t either π, which is why he insisted we watch it this week. I absolutely loved it, and now I can’t wait to see the sequel! I was far more into the bromance between Maverick and Goose than the love story between these two. And while the cinematography was pretty lackluster in the OG, it looks next-level incredible in the behind the scenes footage we saw leading up to the new release. I haven’t been to the movies since before Grey was born, and this one has me wanting to go!
Reading.
Sometimes it’s nice to pick up a book you already know is going to be a winner. Albeit predictable (another Nantucket setting), Elin Hilderbrand delivers yet again with Barefoot. I was so deeply entrenched in the story, I had zero inclination to check my phone, and stayed up far past bedtime to finish it in one big gulp. A perfect summer read at 8.8 βοΈ.
Listening.
These episodes are LONG, and I absolutely understand if it’s too much of a commitment for you. I chipped away at them over the course of two weeks – during neighborhood walks, commutes, and folding laundry – and they were the most impactful conversations I’ve had the privilege of listening to so far this year. If you have been feeling stuck, or pulled in every direction, maybe without clear purpose, or just want some deep introspection – I implore you to dive into Mo Gawdat. Feeling.
I love all of these, but the last one really got me. Who will you be in 5 years?

I made these sweet potato burgers with some tweaks and they were so flavorful. I used Right Rice (made from veggies), roasted the sweet potatoes first, and instead of the spice mix, I used spicy taco seasoning from Siete πΆ.
Love the price, the V in the back, and that you can dress it up or down for summer events.
