Hello, kind friend. I have been so excited to share this weekly windup today. You know that feeling when you finish a good book, the characters are still stuck in your head, and you’re wondering what they’re doing right now? The Watch It today is that good. So is the book…and the podcast…and the links at the end! A lot of little bites of intrigue that added up to a wonderful week. We’re so glad you’re here to Scroll with us on the first day of spring!

Making.

BRAIN BOOSTER BREAKFAST COOKIES
more recipe videos, here!
  • 2 cups organic GF oats
  • 1 cup nut, seed, or sun butter of choice
  • 1 packet of no sugar added applesauce (or 1/2 cup)
  • 4 pitted dates
  • 1 T. vanilla
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 t. cinnamon + a few grinds of sea salt
  • a handful each of goji berries, hemp hearts, chia seeds, raisins, pumpkin seeds, walnuts

Blend all wet ingredients together, then mix in dry until well-incorporated. Form into cookies (we went large because, so much deliciousness!) and bake at 325 for 10-12 minutes (just until edges start to brown).

The fun part is you can add absolutely anything you have in your cupboard and they always come out scrumptious!

PS – We posted THIS Rainbow Superfood Smoothie this week and it is a crowd-pleaser and sneaky superboost. Tell us if you give it a try!

Watching.

This show takes a minute to get into, but once you do, prepare to be hooked. They are releasing new episodes every Friday and I am already counting down the minutes until the next one. It’s pretty out-there, but the acting is phenomenal, and it gives you so much to hypothesize with your watching buddy. A question for you: If you could “sever” and be a separate “you” at work that doesn’t have any recollection of real-life you, then after work hours you go back to “normal” – would you?

Reading.

The Good Sister was just the kind of novel I was craving this week: captivating, unputdownable, provocative and exceptionally well-written. The only downfall for me was that I guessed the ending about halfway through. Even still, it was well worth the up later than I should have been night to get through it in one sitting. If you’re looking for a beach read type of novel – the tale of these two (very different) sisters will allow you a mindless escape, and I have a feeling you’re going to love Fern (and her library) as much as I did. 8.9⭐️

Listening.

I almost didn’t listen to this interview. Mostly because I was never a huge Rachel Hollis fan to begin with, and didn’t follow the scandal she was involved with last year very closely. However, they had me at cancel culture, and I was interested to hear it explored from various angles. It turned out to be an incredibly interesting conversation and I left with a new perspective on owning and learning from mistakes, what it feels like to be “cancelled”, and how we can give grace when people need it the most. If you’ve read any of her books, or like me, are fascinated by this whole notion of dog-piling and cancel culture, I think you’ll find it worth the listen.

Feeling.

These quotes have brought me so much to ponder this week. I especially felt the first and the third in a major way. Tap through for the mantra you want to take to heart as we start fresh this spring season 💙.

Trying.

I love the idea of the first day of spring as a fresh start for any piece of your life that needs a reset. It could be as big as setting a new goal - like reading one new book a week, or perhaps starting a fitness routine. But it can be small, too. Maybe taking a pause before you react, and re-train yourself to respond instead (something I've been working on). Or just getting outside for a walk around the block and letting the sun hit your face - one of my greatest simple pleasures each day. However you spend it, we hope your day is filled with all the birds chirping, friendly neighbor smiles, and signs of JOY.
