Why The Way Our Food is Grown Matters For Metabolic Health
In case you need a reason to eat more strawberries!
A study of 48,762 female nurses found that higher protein intake was associated with increased odds of healthy aging, defined as being free from major chronic diseases and maintaining good mental and physical function.
For every 3% increase in energy from protein, the odds of healthy aging jumped by 38%. Replacing animal protein, dairy, carbohydrates, or fats with plant protein showed even greater benefits. This is such hopeful news!
Here are the plant proteins we have in rotation, and love.

This news is INCREDIBLE! Researchers studied 5,000 adults in the U.S. and measured tiny parts of cells called telomeres, which get shorter as we age. They found that people who walked 150 minutes or more each week had longer telomeres than those who didn’t walk much. This means regular walkers might be up to 7 years younger in their bodies than non-walkers. Walking seems to slow down aging! It’s FREE to us, and one of the best mental and physical exercises we can do for overall well-being, on top of being such a massive factor for longevity. Let’s go for a walk today!

As I look back on my camera roll from February, much of it was spent testing new recipes, feeling all the love from Valentine’s Day, and lots of snuggles from the pups. Fostering Gabe has been such a gift, and also, a lot of learning on our part ((and his 😅)). After 6 weeks of decompressing from the shelter, and packing on a much needed 25 pounds, he is up for adoption and looking for his forever family!

My friend Holly recommended I read this book and it is easily one of my top 3 must reads of all time. I devoured it, started employing the tactics immediately, and it has been such a massive shift in my life!
And a few more I read this month: this book helped me pocket some impactful nuggets for our family (many I hadn’t heard before!), I waited an entire year for the next installment in the Empyrean series, I loved this perspective from a Jon recommendation, and this was outstanding!

Did you know that 47% of adults aren’t fully present in what they’re doing? Here are a few ways we can practice mindfulness and reduce that statistic.
I really enjoyed this (new to me) podcast on Human Design, what we perceive as anxiety, what it might be instead, and how to fix it! So I bought her book and found it to be spot on. It is wild how much of it tracks with my personality/ strengths/ weaknesses, etc.
