Have you heard of compassion fatigue, or empathy burnout? I have been feeling that so heavily this week that it manifested in both mental and physical ways. It’s the deep desire to want to help, with no actual way to change the outcome. I’m sharing here because I imagine you’re feeling that way, too. What we can do is hyper-focus on the most tiny, minuscule things that bring great joy. And then share as many sprinkles of kindness as we can with everyone around us. Scrolls has a lot of that today, just for you. And for me, too 💙. Thank you for always being a bright spot for our family! The most scrumptious St. Patrick’s Day smoothie, a racy new read, and eye-brimming inspo for your week ahead awaits:

Watching.
After Inventing Anna and now The Tinder Swindler, I think I’m good with these deception documentaries for a while 👀. If you’re choosing between the two, Tinder Swindler is shorter, but Inventing Anna wins for a better, more riveting story. Both have put me on edge for how gullible and accepting I am, though, and the walls are going up 😅!
Reading.
I’ve been equal parts hesitant, and clamoring to get my hands on a copy of The Testaments. Hesitant because The Handmaid’s Tale is still ranking as one of my very favorite novels (6+ years after I first read it!) and how often is it that the sequel disappoints?! It was decided when my Mom left her copy for me after her trip last week.
The Testaments was a slower start than the first book in this brilliant series, but it doesn’t stay that way for long. Push through the three alternating POV’s – it makes for incredible suspense, exquisite details, and an unbelievably satisfying sequel. Dare I say better than the first. What I cannot wrap my head around, however, is how Margaret Atwood wrote this based on true events from some of the darkest chapters of world history. 9.6/10⭐️
Also, I should note that I have not watched the Hulu series. I started the first episode and it freaked me out too much. Several friends insist I give it another shot because it’s that good. Do you agree?!
Listening.
A new to me podcast that delivers fun-sized nuggets of wisdom you can listen to in the time it takes you to shower, or on the drive to the grocery store. It’s right up our alley – simple, uncomplicated ideas to unclutter life (figuratively and literally), and let the sunshine in.
