I had a lot of fun putting Scrolls together this week (she’s packed!). It felt like so many years ago when I started writing every Sunday and everything felt fresh and exciting. What a gift! Maybe it’s that springtime energy, or maybe it’s that I just so enjoy connecting with you here. Either way, I’m wishing that same excitement and motivation for your new week ahead. I hope you take away a nugget that inspires you, a piece that makes you shift just a little bit more in the direction you’re working for, and lastly, a smile, because I’m sending a big one to you right now:
Meals
One of our favorite treats of the week that had us missing our years in Chicago! Here’s how we made it:
And on that note – we’re sharing 2 shorts a day on YouTube – in the same vein of Sunday Scrolls – quick snippets to motivate, inspire, and add a little joy into your day. We’d be so thankful if you subscribed, here!
Movement
I listened to this podcast with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak and there were a few gems that resonated. The host asked him if his advice about movement pertains to “regular people” (like us 😅) that work and have children and obligations (unlike some of his celebrity clients who have a lot of help, and are more easily able to prioritize fitness). Harley had a great answer – you have time for what you make time for. I know we are busy, but what can we shift to do just a little bit more to reap big rewards that cross over to every other aspect of our lives?
He took several years off to travel the world to the Blue Zones (where people live to be 100+), and found that the people who live the longest, get the most steps in each day. So how do we do that? Even just adding a walk around the block in the morning is a start. Then when we get the hang of that, we might add another block after dinner. Maybe park farther away from the entrance on every errand. They add up! Will you join me in adding another 1,000 steps this week?
Mindset

My favorite ingredient to add to a smoothie. It takes the texture up 100x (so smooth!), keeps you full longer, and helps your body best absorb all of the other vitamins and minerals 🙌🏽.

This week I read The School for Good Mothers and it took me longer than usual to get through. Not because of how it was written (beautifully!), but the subject matter was something I couldn’t prepare for. Heartbreaking, suspenseful, a real think-piece and fantastic read.
This book came highly, highly recommended. I’ve read a few others by this author and I can’t wait to dive in!
