Oh my are we delighted to see you today! How are you enjoying this 4th of July weekend? We had temperatures over 100 degrees every day this week and boy does the air feel stagnant in Texas πŸ˜…. Inside Scrolls, the AC is blasting and we have a positively scrumptious & patriotic dessert, a new fitness challenge we hope you’ll join us for, sleep tips, mindset shifts, and an abundance of joy curated just for you:

Meals

The swirls in this vegan cheesecake are what get me 🀀. She’s decadent, velvety, and did I mention no-bake?! If you’re looking for a dreamy and delicious 4th of July treat, this is your winner. Grab the recipe, here!

Movement

I’m sure by now you know how deep my love runs for Team Body Project (I’m currently manifesting a follow-up interview with Daniel!), and I would be so pumped if you wanted to join me for their new 28-day challenge. It’s the first of its kind (challenge-wise) that they’ve ever put out – all low impact, built-in rest days, and something for all of us! Here is Day 1 free on YouTube, and if you head to their website, you can get a 1-week free trial. My annual membership just renewed for the 4th time and I have to say, it is the BEST investment in my self-care.

PS – while you’re checking out the YouTube workouts – would you please give a think to subscribing to our Well of Joy channel? I share daily motivation over there (kind of a mini scrolls!) and would love to see and be inspired by more friendly faces in that community. Thank you!!

Mindset

How many hugs do you think you give/ receive each day? I love the science behind the benefits of hugs and the measurable changes in our well-being when we feel loved. A while back, I read that the real shift happens at the 12 second mark, so squeeze your people and make it count!

More

This is brilliant: 6 words that can change your life! A big YES to making an effort to reframe.

I read The Mother-In-Law this week and couldn’t put it down. It was so good, in fact, that I promptly grabbed another one of Sally’s novels – The Younger Wife. I especially love when the same story is shared from different characters POV. Fabulous beach reads!

Speaking of, in case you’re looking for a last minute spot to read them, let’s daydream about one of these beauties: 25 Best Summer Vacations Everyone Should Consider in 2023

We listen to this 10 minute protocol before bed each night and I can actually see the difference in my REM sleep stats on my Oura ring on the nights I listen versus the nights I don’t. 100% worth a try if you need to improve the quality of your sleep!

My friend Deanna sent this and it made me SO thankful I stopped doing this a while back. The changes I saw on my hands were alarming, but the danger goes much deeper.

Super impressed with the quality of this coverlet. It’s soft, cozy (without being too heavy for summer), and washes really well (especially for those of us who let the fur babies sleep in bed πŸ˜…).

I love these conversation starters for date night, family dinner, or maybe a road trip. It’s always fun when your person shares something new and unexpected!

When I took this picture, I prayed it would capture the feeling I had in this moment so tightly, that when I’m 80 I can look at it and know the joy I was feeling in every cell in my being. That terrible truth of only having 18 summers with your child weighs on me heavily, and I am so thankful for every adventure and every mundane moment we have with him. I hope however you are celebrating this weekend, you feel it fully, and love your people deeply!
