Sunday Scrolls: January 9th

We so look forward to spending this time with you each Sunday! Especially after a long week of puppy sickness, Grey’s first stint back to school, Jon’s hand still out of commission – I am very much feeling that January pull to restore cleanliness and organization to the house. You too? When the house is clean, you feel like you can tackle anything. That’s on the docket today, but first, a ridiculously nutritious and delicious Blueberry Muffin Smoothie, a fantastic new-to-me podcast, and a phenomenal round-up of the best finds of the week!

Making.

BLUEBERRY MUFFIN SMOOTHIE

This smoothie gets high marks for flavor, and also – it’s packed with incredible nutrients, anti-inflammatory goodness, omega 3’s, and antioxidants! Bonus: you probably have all of the ingredients to make it right now!

  • 1 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup GF organic oats (I love Bob’s Red Mill)
  • 1 scoop blue spirulina
  • 3 T. hemp hearts
  • 1 T. Mexican vanilla
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • 1 cup oat milk (or vegan milk of choice!)

And if you’re craving another sweet snack, check out our homemade Churro Dip 😍!

Watching.

Shoutout to Jon for suffering through not one, but two seasons of Emily in Paris for me 😅. In all honesty, I don’t think the story line is that interesting (nor meant to be); it’s more focused on the fashion, the incredible scenes from Paris, and the escapism of it all. I did try to return the favor with Don’t Look Up, but I couldn’t get into it. What about you?

Reading.

If you have been struggling lately – mentally, physically, or just on an emotional rollercoaster with the holidays and start of a new year – this might be a beautiful refresh for you, as it was for me. Whether you consider yourself to be spiritual, religious (maybe a mix of both), This Beautiful Truth felt like a warm hug whispering all of the loving reminders that we are longing to hear. It felt soulful, healing, and brave. 9/10⭐️

Listening.

I follow Dr. Will Cole on the ‘gram, but had not listened to his podcast until this week. It is a wealth of wellness information with exceptional guests and experts on so many topics. Since many of the “resolutions” I am working on jumped out in the title of this particular episode, I was excited to start here. It was outstanding advice and actionable tips!

Feeling.

Oof, these really hit home this week 💙.

Trying.

A secret trick to learning new languages, fast.

We did a major clean-out of Grey’s playroom and donated bags of “baby toys” 😭. Getting him more building kits like this for his birthday later this month. Love STEM + a great deal!

First, I could watch this little man all day. And second, look at those gadgets!

Jon has not taken his feet out of this specific sneaker for ((seven years 😳)), so the fact that he has switched to something new and loved them equally is worth sharing 😆🙏🏼.

The best type of coffee for longevity ☕️.

I saw an ad for this sweater and can’t get over the detail. So soft, to boot!

If you’re a The Home Edit fan – have you seen this partnership?

The best (short!) list of resolutions I have seen yet. YES to working more “vocab words” into conversations, taking podcast walks, and easing up.

Are you a Night Owl? You might have this condition.

You know I am enthused about anything to do with our lymphatic system – these tips are great!

You may be able to sense a spark of my enthusiasm back, which is most definitely attributed to more sleep, since this little lady is finally sleeping through the night. What a gift! I’m wishing you a week of restorative nights, soul-filling conversations, beautiful experiences, and good food to nourish your healthy body. Thank you for spending some of your Sunday with us!
