We had a big week in casa de Nixon Pack celebrating six years of loving sweet Grey the Great. All the cliches are true about how fast it goes, and I would give anything to slow it down just a little. More on how we celebrated after we get to today’s Scrolls: the easiest, tastiest air fryer cookie – a deeply thought-provoking movie, incredible new book, and so much more! Come warm up with us. We’re so glad you’re here!
Making.
We loved these so much we have made them several times this week π. They’re fantastic with chocolate chips, raisins, cranberries – anything you have on hand!
Watching.
The God Committee is a slow burn. Nothing wild or splashy happens in this movie; it isn’t like a delicious book with a twist you didn’t see coming. But what it does have is an immensely thought-provoking story, one that you’ll keep bringing up with your partner days later, and a fantastic cast that brings it to life. Side note: I didn’t check my phone once as we were watching, so although I mentioned slow – it wasn’t in the sense of being boring!
Reading.
Deep Work is one of those books I wish I had found sooner. Cal Newport has delivered the most action-driven plan, based on years and years of research and science to help us improve our focus, and work toward our purpose. It has completely transformed the way I look at my daily tasks, goal-setting, and time management in general. I have a lot of work to do, but this feels like the cowboy leading the horse (ππΌββοΈ) to water. You can’t make him drink, but if he’s thirsty, he has everything he needs right in front of him. 9.5βοΈ
Listening.
Harley Pasternak is the go-to trainer whenever a celebrity has to get in shape for a big movie and I’ve heard his name come up again and again through the years, but never knew much about his method. I love the tips he gives in this podcast and I was shocked how easy they are to put into practice. He’s also anti-diet culture, and seems to be on a mission for actual health, not just the “look” we hear so much about.
Feeling.
Trying.
I’ve been looking for a better way to store my tea collection, and this popped up. Bonus: it’s 10% off. If you’re not in the market, but need a gift idea, how sweet would this be to fill with your favorite teas and surprise a friend?
How many sweaters do you own and never wear because they’re too itchy? Here’s how to fix them.
Let’s face it, this mug is a beauty. And these plates ππ!
Jo’s Pro Tips. I especially loved her thoughts on picking up from the airport, how to relate to kids, and the fact that everyone is thinking about themselves, and no one is judging you as much as you think π.
If you’re in need of a new tablet for your kiddo, this one is 30% off and we love the kid-safe apps and settings that come pre-installed.

We’ve had our mini air fryer for several years, and it does the trick for a single serving, but if we decide to upgrade, I’m going for this one. Amazing reviews and it dehydrates, too!
Our tic-tac-toe master chose these valentines this year. ββοΈ
Little Nix is Six! On Friday, I got to surprise Grey's class as the mystery reader, then Jon and I brought him pizza for lunch. Wish us luck, as his first ever birthday party with friends is on Saturday - he is over the top excited, and we envision absolute mayhem π
. I have been on such a rollercoaster of emotions. Milestones can do that to you, right? I feel so grateful to do life with them. Grey is in this incredible stage right now that shows us a glimpse of who he will be as he grows, and we feel this deep determination to protect it. He has the most beautiful, empathetic heart, a questioning spirit, fierce love, and an abundance of joy. What a GIFT.
And with that, we hope your week is warm, joyful, and full of pizza and cake πππΌ!
