This first Scrolls of the New Year was such fun to put together. Whether you’re a resolution-maker or not, there’s something so hopeful about turning the page and starting a new chapter. Here you’ll find cleansing recipes for body + mind, meaningful motivators and a smattering of features and favorites to cherry pick what feels best for you. Come on in and stay a while!

meals

My friend Jen has me hooked on this easy, delicious, wonderful site for clean recipes. If you have a goal to eat more whole, nutritious foods, I know you’ll find some fresh takes to try. Might I suggest starting with this? We have always done a lentil soup on New Year’s Day to bring abundance, prosperity and health – I like this take on it with the added bonus of a detox after all of the holiday indulgences!

Adding these ingredients to our shopping list to make this dreamy mineral mocktail!

And this Wild Rice Salad with Orange Vinaigrette looks like the perfect winter starter or side.

movement

If you want to make one small shift that will have a wildly big impact on your digestion, metabolism, and will help to reduce blood sugar spikes – this is it: closely after a meal, take a 10-minute walk. It doesn’t even have to be brisk, it can be a stroll! Can’t do that? Do 30 air squats using just your body weight! Research shows this small habit helps with muscle protein synthesis, digestion, and blood sugar regulation. (Not to mention the mood boost from the endorphins!)

mindset

Jon sent me this mindset shifter last week and I haven’t stopped thinking about all of the wisdom encased in just a 10-minute lesson. I love the idea that life doesn’t truly begin until we’ve done the groundwork. And here are the gems that sparkled the most as we look ahead to a fresh start:

moments

What a magical month December was. I am hoping to take the joy of the holidays into the New Year in the form of saying yes to more family adventures, more time spent playing games at the table, more treats for neighbors and friends, more giving back to people and places close to our hearts. Less complaining, more gratitude. Less worry, more glee! PS – the wonder on Grey’s face in the 13th picture is one I hope he holds onto forever!

If you’ll indulge me for just one extra minute: what lesson did you learn in 2024? And maybe if it wasn’t a big lesson, what was one little nugget that stuck with you? I would love to hear about it in the comments below, or if you’re more comfortable, shoot me an email. I am always so grateful to pocket valuable wisdom from friends!
