Sunday Scrolls: January 15th

Hello, wonderful friend! I have mixed thoughts on Blue Monday. Tomorrow is supposed to be the “saddest day of the year”, but it’s only going to be if we let it. So we packed Scrolls with extra smiles today in the hope that it leaves you feeling motivated, inspired, and joyful and creates ripples to everyone around you. I’m so glad you’re here. We can’t wait to cozy up with you and share our favorite finds and tasty treats!

Meals

Our favorite ((clean!)) vegan protein is $10 off on amazon right now. It’s delicious and silky – no chalky texture! We use it in our morning smoothies, and also with these protein balls:

  • 1 cup organic nut/seed butter of choice
  • 1 cup organic GF oats
  • 2 scoops protein powder
  • 1 t. cinnamon + 1 t. salt
  • handful of Lily’s cinnamon chocolate chips
  • 2 T. vegan milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

You can vary the measurements slightly to achieve the texture you’re after but this works perfectly for us. I whisk together the milk, maple syrup and peanut butter. Then whisk in the protein powder, and slowly fold in the other ingredients. We form them into balls and store them in the fridge.

These make for an awesome early pre-coffee bite to coat your stomach and protect your gut health; and the maple syrup adds a hint of sweetness without spiking your blood sugar like honey does.

Movement

Do you have a set of stairs at home? Or maybe at the office? I stumbled upon this quick stair workout this week and have been loving it! It is the best way to boost your heart rate quickly, and support your muscles and bone health. Studies show that people who use stairs regularly, increase their leg power and drastically reduce the risk of injury from falls, especially in the elderly. (It’s also a great way to get your steps in for all of my friends who started the year with a new daily step goal!)

Mindset

I am loving this lineup of thought-provoking quotes, so much so that I tried to choose a favorite and listed them all 😆. If you’re looking for extra inspo – this phenomenal conversation on Daily Habits for a Happier, Healthier & More Fulfilling Life – was a calm, motivating, inspiring listen.
