Happy Mother’s Day! Special occasions like this can be a mixed bag of emotions. Joy, sorrow, loss, excitement, ambivalence. Whatever you’re feeling today, know you are not alone, and that in whatever capacity you might be mom’ing, we’re celebrating you with love! In today’s Scrolls we have my favorite breakfast bake – it is totally foolproof and an easy win no matter whom you serve it to! Plus, an out of left field “watch it” recommendation, a perspective-shifting podcast, and wowowow a fantastic round-up of favorite finds of the week! We’re so glad you’re here!

Make It.

This Bubbly Berry Bake is such an easy go-to for any occasion and it freezes so well if you want to make-ahead! We serve it over vegan yogurt, dairy-free ?…or eat it straight out of the pan ?.

?‍? 1 cup of gluten free oats, 1/2 cup of your flour of choice (I use coconut), 1/4 cup of nutiva superseed blend, 1/4 t. baking soda, several shakes of cinnamon, and a few cranks of sea salt.

? then add your wets to the dry bowl: 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil + 1/3 cup of agave nectar.

? Spread out the oat mix on the bottom of a greased dish & cover with 15oz. of your favorite jam!

?bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until bubbly. Enjoy!!

Watch It.

We officially canceled cable this week. It had been a long time coming, and I have to tell you, it felt good to pull the plug. If you need a friend to push you to review your subscriptions & services to evaluate what you are actually using (versus what’s just on auto-pay)…here’s your reminder! In any event, Jon pulled this video up when we were reminiscing about our fleeting idea to move to NYC after college (which was quickly nixed when we remembered we had no money and it’s the most expensive city to live in ?).

Could you live in an apartment this small? What about without a kitchen? I feel like it would be fun for a bit to rely on takeout…but that can’t help in the budget department! What feature of your current place could you not live without?

Read It.

I am a sucker for thoughtful, captivating, impeccably written details, and this novel is rich with them. After many suggestions from fellow book lovers to grab The Henna Artist, I found it on sale at Costco and I feel so thankful to have read it, and have it here for keeps to tuck into the nightstand for future overnight guests (I’m looking at you, mom ?). The characters, the culture, the intricacies make it unputdownable – 9.5 ⭐️.

PS – Amazon has a deal on so many books right now – you save 50% on one when you buy 2!

Listen to It.

Are you familiar with Gabby Bernstein? I interviewed her more than a decade ago for Bridge Street thanks to my best friend Holly. Since then, we’ve seen her speak in person, and Holly has gifted me all of Gabby’s books through the years. I stumbled upon her podcast this week, and it feels like your biggest cheerleader willing you to yearn for more, giving you the tools to help, and pushing you to work for them.

If you like what you hear and want one of her books to read, I’d start with this one!

Feel It.

Try It.

These are the gold hoops I have on every. single. day. I work out with them, shower, and sleep with them on. I mention this because, they have not tarnished or left marks on my ears despite all of that (and the price tag!). They have only been out of my ears once since buying them last year and that was to wear dangly earrings for Easter ?.

My black one-piece is on sale! This swimsuit lifts in all the right places and has enough coverage on the bottom you won’t be pulling it out every three minutes ?. 10/10 ⭐️ and true to size!

18 Flowering Houseplants – so beautiful and a better investment than a vase of flowers ?.

11 Clean Beauty Tips learned from moms.

If you have a birthday coming up for a kid in your life, or want to celebrate the end of school – this is a surefire winner. Going to surprise Grey with this remote control amphibious ATV after his Spanish schoolhouse graduation!

I have been testing out different organic body scrubs and I finally found one I put on subscribe and save. This is made by a small business (woman-owned) and she includes several freebies in the package! I dollop it on in the shower after I shave and it makes your legs silky smooth!

What buyers really notice about your house. Do you agree?

This got me excited. Arizona is high on my list! 7 Trips in the U.S. that will reinvigorate the soul!

Why you think you’re right all the time, and how to get over it.

I ordered this polo for Jon for Father’s Day (on sale!), and this one, too. I’ve always had a thing for skulls (they remind me of Dìa de los muertos!), and I think they make a standard polo pop with personality.

An interesting take on Mother’s Day for friends who struggle with it. I know this can be especially hard for peoplwho are missing their mom, whether across the country (??‍♀️), or a mother who has passed.

Have a spectacular day with your people, your plants, and your purpose. I can't wait to hear what good things are in store for you this week! Please report back with your wins - I'm cheering you on!

And lastly, the Happiest Mother's Day to my mom, and all the moms in my life. I've come to realize the importance of surrounding yourself with women who see you not only as who you are, but as who you can grow to be. I don't think it takes growing a human to become a mom - but being the kind of woman to love on their people and lift them up in all the ways. I. am. the. luckiest.

L to R: my Madre, my Grandma Judy, Grandma Shirley, Grandma Bev, best friend Holly, my MIL Susan, Aunt Sis, and Auntie CC ?. I love them all so much!!
