Sunday Scrolls: February 6th

Nearly a year ago to the week, we had a history-making snow storm that took out our power for three days, and while they tell us “it never snows in Texas”…oops, it did it again. However, this time was much more (dare I say) fun, since our heat stayed on and we didn’t have to brave the roads. We were privileged to stay home, warm and safe. Grey and Gemma had a blast, and the Central New Yorker in me absolutely loved seeing the trees sparkling like diamonds. What a gift to enjoy – and promptly send it back up north 😅.

We have the BEST Scrolls to share with you today – I’m shouting from the snowbanks about my love for this new-to-us feel good series, a phenomenal book, and a fantastic round-up of our favorite finds of the week. So much goodness inside today! We’re so thankful you made it:

Making.

Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie (and hidden veggies!)

Reading.

Carnegie’s Maid was an absolute delight of a read. Marie Benedict’s tale of historical fiction – the journey of Irish immigrants coming to America in the late 1800’s, her depiction of a brilliant, cunning lead, Clara, who was able to effect change not only for herself and her family, but for Andrew Carnegie, whom would become one of the greatest philanthropists in history. If you’re a bit of a nerd like me, you will love the impeccable vocabulary the author weaves so beautifully throughout (I learned two new words 🤩), and the gift of being transported to live through another time in history. 9.4/10⭐️

Watching.

I don’t have enough words to convey how much I adored Season 1 of Ted Lasso. This series is one of the most feel-good, inspiring, incredible shows we have watched in years. It isn’t heavy, or anxiety inducing (for the most part), and contrary to what I thought before watching – you don’t have to be a massive soccer fan to enjoy it. I don’t know a single person who couldn’t benefit from a Ted Lasso mindset (something I continue to work toward every day) 🤗.

Listening.

The Wellness Mama blew me away with this week’s podcast on setting intentions for February. Each month, instead of “100 goals” she says she never gets to – she sets her focus on three big ones – meals, movement, and mindset. I love this concept and can’t wait to put it into practice in my own life! Have a listen for how she handles each, and why she goes about it in this way.

**Biggest aha moment**: instead of looking at your goals and focusing on what’s missing, focus on expanding/ improving what you’re already doing well.

Feeling.

Trying.

All-time favorite pillowcases. The best for your skin, hair, and cool temp for ultimate sleep quality. I just ordered a spare set and wanted to share again in case you’re in the market!

What time of day is best to water your plants & other tips to keep them thriving.

I want to learn to do this. What a beautiful gift this makes 🥰

This really spoke to me: has social media reached a breaking point? What do you think?

So lovely and only $20 (that color)!

I don’t usually stray from Levi’s since I have worn them forever and trust the fit – but these jeans are fabulous on – and a great price point to boot!

How to feel less awful after a night of poor sleep.

The latest in kitchen trends – scroll for the most swoon-worthy inspo 😍. I’m very into the multi-purpose speed oven!

WOW: What the American home has looked like through the years.

Such a sweet personalized gift idea for littles!

YES to this, for life, not just in the role of parenting.

Great exercises to implement if you sit all day 💪🏼.

Hoping for an upgrade next time you fly? Try this.

Here’s what the Year of the Tiger will bring you according to a Chinese zodiac expert.

This song has been on repeat for me lately. Her voice is so beautiful.

Have a spectacular week ahead. Only 42 days until spring! PS - we're going to start sending out a weekly newsletter with fresh inspo. If you don't mind a little sunshine in your inbox, please make sure you subscribe! XO, Kaylea
