Hello there, friend. I wish I could properly convey to you how much I love putting these together each week. It brings me such joy. Especially because I feel so lucky that you share your favorite parts with me, so then I think of you as I’m hunting down finds for the next post! Our high of the week was a stretch of absolutely spectacular seventy-five degree days here in Dallas playing outside with Grey, and the low was missing my best pal. I’m not much of a FaceTimer, but she rang me out of the blue and I started balling when we hung up because I missed her face deeply. Darn you, Covid. Need a hug? I’ve got a bunch built in to this week’s Scrolls:
Make It.
With the move and the holidays, we’ve been lucky recipients of a few bottles of champagne recently. And while we are by no means complaining, it isn’t something we drink very often. Maybe we tie the label of “special occasion” too closely to it? But what’s more special than Christmastime?! After we saw Half Baked Harvest’s Champagne Mule, we were inspired to put our own spin on it!
We juiced a few lemons and limes for the base, then poured in the bubbly. If you decide to make it, I wouldn’t use anything really fancy. You’re going to mask the champagne with other ingredients so save the good stuff for another time! Then, add a splash of ginger beer (Gosling’s is the most flavorful we found and has the least sugar). After that, top with your garnish of choice. We went with raspberries, but you could do pomegranates, frozen cherries, or anything with a little color! Cheers! PS – notice we clinked three times? We’ve done it since we were dating. It’s our not so secret code of (1) I (2) love (3) you.
Read It.
After a slew of historic, self-help and political autobiographies, I was ready for a snuggle up in front of the fire with a blanket & mug of tea kind of page-turner. Enter, The Confession Club. This book is not what it seems in the sense of, you imagine it to be a gossipy, shock-filled thriller based on the title. Spoiler: it’s not. It’s even better. This novel is so brilliantly written celebrating flawed, imperfect humans (like us ??♀️), and the resounding theme is hope! It leaves you with such a sense of joy. After I finished, I looked up the author and realized this was book 3 in her series. Don’t worry, it doesn’t matter where you start. But if you’re interested in the rest of them, you can find them here.
Watch It.
There is this nifty little section in the depths of Netflix called “Hidden Gems”. I have no idea if it’s new or if I just stumbled upon it haphazardly. But either way, it’s worth a deep dive if you’re looking for something new! We watched I Don’t Know How She Does It last night and it was exactly as titled: a hidden gem ?. There were so many big actors in it, I don’t know how it slipped under my radar (for nearly a decade!). Despite the slight time warp, this film is so relatable – especially for working moms. Sarah Jessica Parker is fantastic in it, as are Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, and Olivia Munn. 9/10 ⭐️!
Listen to It.
There are too many nuggets in this podcast to choose one. No matter which season of life you’re in, this is an exceptional listen. I jotted down several notes from each of the experts and hope you’ll find it gives you a fresh outlook on how to cultivate gratitude in all areas of our life as we look toward the week ahead.
Feel It.

Dog lovers, please take a minute to watch this. I cried! I have been a rescue Pack mama for 15 years and I never knew the reason behind this!
We made homemade pasta for a family date this week and if you have someone special you still need a gift for, I cannot recommend this enough. The process of actually making the pasta could not be easier, and you can swap ingredients easily to accommodate your dietary restrictions. Jon bought it for me 5 years ago and we still use it just as often as we did when we first unwrapped it!
For all my Schitt’s Creek & Dan Levy fans. Love the 73 Questions series because we get a peek inside people’s homes, and listen to their quirky answers. His answer about personal style was my favorite!
Let’s stop everything and make these right this second. I am drooling. They look spectacular!
