Sunday Scrolls: August 2nd

By Kaylea

You’re here! Thank you! Today’s edition of Sunday Scrolls is one of our favorites – if you need a joy jolt or two, you’ve come to the right place. And if you need a new cocktail recipe, we’ve got that too. Cheers to the last month of summer!

Make It.

We’ve dubbed this a Frosty Fireball, and it’s spectacular:

  • Blend together ice, a can of light coconut milk, cinnamon, a splash of vanilla, and Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. Refreshing with a kick!
  • Top with a splash of Fireball & dash of extra cinnamon. Bonus points if you have shredded coconut on hand. It is divine!

Watch It.

Let’s drop “Hello” from our vocabulary and greet friends with “Sawubona” instead. In South Africa that is the replacement for the usual Hi, and means, I see you, you are important to me, and I value you. ? Imagine what that small change could add to humanity if we said it and meant it? This Ted Talk is about so much more than that, and if you have fifteen minutes today, I know it will take seed and grow. It may be from 2017, but could not be more timely:

The Wisdom of Sundays has been a longtime favorite that I try to open whenever I need a warm hug and gentle advice. Funny how whatever page you flip to really speaks to the moment you’re in. 10/10 pick for you, and as a gift for your special Sunday soul sister.

Feel It.

My yoga teacher Kali Om shared this in her newsletter last week and I haven’t been able to shake it. You may have heard it before, or something like it. But what if you made it your screensaver for a day and glanced at it every time you went to open your email or social media? It may start to really take hold, and also alleviate some of your pangs of anxiety. It did for me & I hope the same goes for you!

Try It.

What makes a relationship successful? Spoiler: It’s all in the way you view it.

New favorite word, and practice.

I am absolutely cheering this couple on! We love any chance to support an organization that helps rescue pups; and to boot they’re new to Chicago from my hometown of Syracuse! They could really use our help to make this dream a reality.

Would you sacrifice a large bedroom for your dream kitchen? ?

I wish I was invited to this Veggie Burger Taste Test – but even though I wasn’t, I’m all about the winner. Which one is your favorite?

About to spend the rest of the day doing this ??. If we do one good thing during this stretch at home, it's to create the most magnificent, magical memories for this sweet boy. We hope you find some time to do the same today. There's nothing like being a little kid in the summertime!
