Sunday Scrolls: April 3rd

I am buzzing with excitement today. Over nothing in particular, and yet everything around us. It’s one of those days where you have extra energy and crave doing all the things. But first – let’s pour a beautiful mug of coffee and scroll together. We have a jam packed edition today that I have been giddy to share with you: our creamy + delicious antioxidant-rich dressing, the best movie of the year (I still can’t stop thinking about it!), and an abundance of favorite finds (SO many great ones this week). Come inside and stay a while. We’re so glad you’re here!

Making.

EASY VEGAN SALAD DRESSING – anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants, and tastes amazing on anything!
See more of our favorite recipes, here!
  • 1/2 cup organic tahini
  • juice of 1 lemon (bonus points for adding in some zest!)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup good quality EVOO (the one pictured here is from our local farmers market)
  • swirl of maple syrup
  • sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste

Try it with a drizzle of balsamic glaze on a salad and it really POPS!

Watching.

This absolutely spectacular film was Jon’s pick last week, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. I cried big crocodile tears, felt all the feels up and down the rollercoaster of emotions, and finished with the deepest sense of gratitude for having been able to watch, hear, and feel it. It was cast so perfectly, the acting was impeccable, and the story was wildly moving. I don’t know a single human who wouldn’t fall in love with CODA. Worth getting Apple TV just for this. A 10/10 must watch 🙏🏼.

Reading.

I resisted reading Life Force for a while. I kept passing by it at Costco thinking, I don’t need to buy this, I’ve listened to so much Tony Robbins content, surely it’s more of the same. But then Jon sent me a podcast where they interviewed Tony about this latest bestseller and told me it wasn’t what I was expecting at all. He was so right.

If you’re on the fence like I was – this is more of a shakeup of what we know about modern medicine, cutting edge treatments available to us, how to prime our bodies for optimal health to pre-empt disease in the later years, and more. It really forced me down a rabbit hole of our health care in America vs. other countries, big Pharma, and the simple things we can do to prioritize our health and well-being. If you’re a little bit of a science nerd in the wellness wheelhouse like I am, you’ll love it! 9/10 ⭐️

Listening.

If you listen to one thing all week (I know it’s a long one, so it might take a few drive times to get through to the end), please let it be this. I heard an uncountable amount of golden nuggets in this conversation. And in case you can’t swing it this week, I have to share my favorite with you: If you were in their shoes, you’d do the same thing. How many times have we looked at someone else’s decision, or someone’s behavior and thought, I’d do it differently. But what Dr. Rangan is saying is, no, you wouldn’t. Not if you were them; with their upbringing, their value system, with the lens in which they see the world. It helped shift my perspective so much among other invaluable pieces of wisdom he shared. I cannot wait for you to hear it. If you do get a chance to listen, please let me know what resonated for you most. I cannot wait to hear!

Feeling.
