Sunday Scrolls: April 10th

Apr 10, 2022 | Sunday Scrolls

After a whirlwind few weeks (months, years 😆), we have the best kind of Sunday ahead: one without a single plan, and rich with sunshine and temps in the 80’s. It’s also Jon’s famous pizza night which is an immediate cure for any Sunday scaries that lurk in. And for all of my dog-loving friends – today is National Hug Your Dog Day, so give them a big squeeze, and you’ve got another one coming from us for stopping by this morning. Scrolls is a juicy one, jam-packed with JOY, and we can’t think of anyone else we’d rather share it with:

Making.

JOY JOLT SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIE

Did you know the smell of lemon has been proven to reduce anxiety + depression?! It also supports heart health, prevents kidney stones, improves digestion, and SO much more. It helps drive home all the flavors of this superfood smoothie without being the main character. Here’s what you’ll need in the blender:

INSTANT JOY JOLT
  • Juice of 1 lemon + zest
  • 1 cup frozen spinach
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 banana
  • Milkadamia
  • 3 T. hemp hearts
  • Swirl of date syrup

Watching.

Is season 2 of Bridgerton as sensational as the first? Not exactly. But that could be because we were so awestruck of the set design and the fashion and the love story the first go-round, that for season two, we were already wowed and ready to see the ante upped.

Bridgerton Season 2

That being said, I still oohed and ahhed over every gown, every garden, and might I say, they really stepped up the men’s fashion with this installment. Some of the details of the suits were next level incredible. No spoilers, but I was really rooting for these two – beautiful chemistry and a different spin than we were gifted last year. A great show and easy watch if you’re looking for a little fantasy escapism. Also, the orchestral music is divine. What did you think of S2 vs. S1?

Reading.

My friend Stacey and I exchange our favorite reads at school pickup each week and last week she couldn’t stop singing the praises of The Last Flight. So much so, she was listening to it on Audible, and was so into the suspense, she went and bought a copy halfway through so she could follow along in front of her.

I was the lucky recipient of it immediately after she finished, and followed suit, finishing in one sitting. We both agreed the ending felt like it came on a little too quickly, almost as if the author was told she had to wrap it up when there was still more to say. But all in all, a compelling, unputdownable 8.4⭐️.

Listening.

If you’re into wellness trends, Ayurvedic practices, and optimal health, you will love this conversation and all of the wisdom shared by their guest – Chervin Jafarieh. You can find the first episode here, and it was so well received, they brought him back for a second round, here. Both make for a fantastic listen, and I wrote down so many tips and suggestions to research and see if they are a right fit for me. That’s what is so fun about all of the information that is available to us now. We can breathe it in, dissect and research, then decide what works for us.
