Spark Joy with $10 or Less

This isn’t a gift guide for your next White Elephant party (though I suppose it could be 😍). It’s a thoughtfully curated list of ten of our favorite pieces, gadgets, and gizmos we use regularly that spark joy throughout the day. We need more joy jolts in life, and who can say no at this price point?

10. Milk Frother – this is a game changer if you’re a matcha fan like I am. Maybe you like a little cream in your coffee. Or perhaps you’re ready to up-level your hot cocoa game for the kids. It makes all of the above creamy and delicious, plus it’s fun to use, too.

$8.99 Milk Frother

9. Your favorite mug (love this for $10 & bursting with affirmations!). We used to have all white mugs. Incredibly vanilla. Wildly boring. I liked everything to look linear and clean in the cupboards and was never the person who bought fun mugs. Until my Dad gifted me a “First Lady” mug from the Reagan Presidential Library. A lone pink mug in a sea of white…and I reached for it every time. Fast forward to now, a disorganized, rainbow of a coffee cupboard and loving every one of them. It’s fun to reach for a particular theme or color based on your mood and it instantly increases the enjoyment factor of morning coffee or afternoon tea. This set doesn’t fall into our $10 price point, but how dreamy are these handcrafted beauties?!

Hand Painted Cup & Saucer Set

8. Case with Taste. When is the last time you changed your cell phone case? Maybe yours is already fabulous. But if you’re like us, it’s clear and boring and doesn’t really reflect your personality. For something we look at 792 times a day, let it be one that lights you up, or at the very least, makes you smile.

Butterfly iPhone Case $9.99

7. Gel Pens. These pens are a delight. Whether you’re writing your to-do-list, journaling, or sending a love note – they make a 10/10 difference every time. I made an exception with our $10 price point since they went up to $11 – but it is worth it! The colors are unique, the flow is beautifully smooth, and they are just fun to use. PS – wouldn’t they make a lovely gift coupled with Joy Jolt number 6 below?!

Gel Pens – $11

6. Thank You with Flair. There is nothing like opening the mail and in a sea of bills and advertisements, you find a handwritten note. It’s a lost art we need to bring back in a big way (here are the cards I’m using at the moment). I adore these silly anytime notes ($9!), and these motivational cards are superb. They had me at “You Make Me Want to be a Better Person” 😭.

🌈 thank you notes

5. Reusable Water Bottle. Much like your cup of coffee in the morning, your water bottle is just as much an opportunity to justify a joy jolt as you refill it throughout the day. I love this one because of it’s streamlined, aesthetic design, the time guidelines to encourage you to swig more, and the motivational reminder. You do indeed rock, by the way 😘.

Reusable Water Bottle – $10

4. Organic Hand Soap. You know, for a gal who started out this post saying it wasn’t with the intention of providing a gift guide, it’s shaping up to offer some fabulous host gifts, isn’t it? 😆. These soaps are a dream, and since we’re washing even more in the midst of “sick season”, let it be with a clean, sweet smelling, luxe soap.

2-pack Muse Bath Apothecary

3. Best Dry Brush. I can’t sing dry brush praises loudly enough. I talk about it all the time as one of our wellness essentials, and for good reason. Dry brushing regularly assists with lymphatic drainage, can improve cellulite, blood circulation, and overall relaxation. A big YES from me.

Best dry brush – $7.99

2. Self Care Sunday. Every Sunday (for years and years!) I love to mask. In fact, my mother-in-law knows this so much, she just gifted me the most luxe mask + heel glaze for my birthday (10/10 recommend!). If you’re looking to keep it under $10, and want to spark some happiness any day of the week, might I suggest these brightening eye patches, or this glorious set of authentic Korean beauty skincare sheets.

1. Affirmations. You do not need to be religious, or even spiritual to enjoy this last item on today’s list. But starting your day with motivational messages and mindfulness has been proven to shift your perspective throughout the day and train your mind to see the good. I have been reading this every day for the last 5 years since my Grandma Shirley gifted it to me. And I bought this one for Grey that we read together every night. There is always something to relate to, and to help us find the joy in any situation.

Daily Affirmations – $10.79

I hope you take a moment to look around and see what joy jolts you already have in your life. And if you’re planning on treating yourself, or a friend, I hope this list helps you find that fun little treasure that makes you smile. Be well and joyful today. We’re so thankful to have spent some time with you! 💙
