I look forward to my daily walk almost as much as my morning coffee. It could be the movement, most definitely the sunshine; but it’s also the mindset shift I get after pressing play on one of these podcasts. The interviewers ask the most poignant questions, the experts present their knowledge in tangible, bite-sized nuggets we can actually put into practice, and I always leave the conversation feeling like I can conquer the world. Here are our Top 5 Motivational Podcasts:
5. The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett
Chances are, if you’ve seen a motivational quote somewhere in your feed, you’ve seen content by Steven Bartlett. The Diary of a CEO podcast features groundbreaking thought leaders, and shares insights, experiences, and raw stories that leave you encouraged and inspired.
4. On Purpose with Jay Shetty
I’m a longtime fan of former monk, incredible author, and uber-motivator Jay Shetty. His tone is soothing, his interview style is thoughtful and warm, and I feel expanded in so many ways after listening to his conversations. He covers everything from productivity to discovering your passion, spirituality, overcoming adversity and so. much. more.
3. Feel Good Effect by Robyn Conley Downs
If you’re looking for gentle motivation – the compassionate (never judgmental) friend who nudges you in the right direction without making you feel less-than, you will love the Feel Good Effect. Robyn’s intention podcasts that she releases at the start of each month are a must-listen for me. I love the way she breaks down goals by month in three categories – meals, mindset, movement. It helps you set your own focus and take tiny pieces that you might add to your own routine.
2. Buddhist Boot Camp
My good friend Kim turned me on to Timber Hawkeye several years back by gifting me this book. It is a treasure, and his podcast is a lot of the same. Short excerpts on a specific topic that get right to the heart of the issue in 10 minutes or less. Timber has the most unique perspective and always finds a way to shift your thinking, even by a degree or so. Slowly, you start to see the world through a new lens.
1. Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu
I saved this for the number one slot for the simple fact that it has taught me so much in the past year: about the life-changing power of having the right mindset, emotional intelligence, longevity, productivity, goal-getting, etc. That being said, a small disclaimer that Tom can be polarizing (according to feedback from friends I have sent episodes to). I happen to love his interview style because he is incredibly direct and self-aware. If a guest doesn’t answer something completely, or if he thinks the audience isn’t following the experts’ train of thought – he asks it differently, and has fantastic follow-up questions to give us the total picture. 10/10 recommend.
I'd love to hear which podcast resonates most with you today. And if you have a favorite channel you subscribe to, I would be so grateful if you'd share it with me. I'm always on the hunt for new perspectives and nuggets of wisdom! Have a healthy, joyful, fulfilled day 💙.
