You might have seen this one coming before we did. Truth be told, I used the phrase “forever home” with this house. Even though Jon bought it without me. Even though it was covered with mustard yellow, drip-stained dark molding throughout. Even though this was the biggest labor of love to date.

And my goodness did it take some real soul-searching to come to terms with leaving the streams, and the deer, and the rooms we love to play hide and seek in as a family. But through all that, I think we’ve come to realize – going on seven houses in our twelve years of marriage – we might not be “forever home” kind of people.

We might be the kind of people who make forever home kind of memories when we only stay a couple of years. Instead, finding joy crafting and curating every nook and cranny while we’re there. Using renovations as our form of marital therapy, sharing life lessons and building strong work ethic with our tool belt wielding toddler.
