Admission: I’m a terrible gift-giver. It’s something I always vow to get better at, and yet, I am that person who brings a bottle of wine for every occasion. You too? Now, I haven’t heard any complaints because let’s be honest, you can never have too many bottles of wine. The recipient can always regift it store it drink it. But when it comes to your friends or family moving into a new home – this is a big deal. The American Dream. It took a lot of saving and sanity to get there. Let’s really celebrate this milestone with something to make them feel like you put forth a little more effort than stopping at the corner liquor store and oh can you rub the price tag off and put a bow on this so it looks like I tried? Here are a few unique, personalized #NixonPack approved gifts that rise to the occasion:
- Custom House Portrait. Ah, how sweet is this?! I follow this artist on Instagram and she’s an incredibly talented mama boss. I swoon for these watercolor paintings. Here’s something pretty and personalized that would most definitely be welcomed by any new homeowner. I’ve been saving up to do a gallery wall with all of our previous homes as a gift for Jon.
- Personalized Picnic Basket. One of my most treasured traditions when we move into a new home is to pick our favorite room in the house to have a picnic dinner to celebrate our first night. What a sweet gift this would make for a new homeowner to start their own tradition! Bonus points if you stop for subs on the way and fill it with some sweet treats for dessert.
- Custom Family Cross-Stitch. My Grandma Judy used to cross-stitch when I was little and I always adored them. I stumbled across this tiny family on etsy and knew I had to have it in our new home. How she was able to fit five dogs, myself, Jon and a baby is beyond me, but the finished product was adorable and it shipped super fast!
