Pack Picks: Opalhouse Dupes

There are some partnerships that Target launches where I secretly camp out in anticipation, think, shoot, we’re running low on diapers. Need anything on my #targetrun? Then race as fast as I can to snag everything before it sells out…and come home sans diapers. Opalhouse was one of them. I got the catalog early, earmarked my favorites, and ran. Naturally, I saw a lot of finds on my instagram feed ahead of time, but whenever that happens I get a little sick of the collection before I even see it IRL. Does that ever happen to you? When I got to Target, some of the pieces sure were pretty. I even came home with a couple of vases and a few candlesticks (shown under Frida, above). But I have to tell you. If this collection is your jam, you can get the look without falling in line with everyone else.

♥ If you’re digging this decorative gold wall mirror, I’m totally with you. But I have been lucky enough to find several lookalikes for a small fraction of the price, and covered in gorgeous patina. Leave that one for someone else, and enjoy the thrill of the hunt finding something with more of a story. I scooped up the one you see pictured here from a local vintage shop for $40. Same price – this one is from our nation’s capital in the 1940’s – and it’s much larger, of better quality, and I supported a local shop to boot. #NixonPack nugget: In our experience, thrift shops don’t like to keep mirrors on the floor since they’re easily breakable. A nice opportunity for you to snag it for a steal!

♥ Are you into garlands as much as I am? They add such a pop of whimsy to any space. I like them draped over a mirror, curled up on a vignette, hung on a fireplace. This one from Opalhouse is cute, but there are TONS available by talented artisans on etsy (this maker is a favorite, this one is adorable), and it’s also a great DIY opportunity (that you can get the kids involved with!).

♥ And here’s the chair you may have seen a time or two eighty-six. I love everything about it. But what I don’t love is seeing it in everyone else’s corner. Know the feeling? Let’s support these girl bosses instead! I am such a fan of Denise and swoon for everything she adds to the shop. She just teased a preview of some fabulous rattan pieces she’s adding soon, but in the meantime I am loving this swing chair, and the clean lines of this one. Local to Syracuse? I’ve had my eye on this vintage beauty from Driftwood & Glitter for so long!
