#NixonPack Nice List: April 13th

Originally the 60’s were forecasted for the weekend and I had all the sunglasses emojis stocked up and ready to celebrate. But as the week went on it dropped a few degrees here, a few more there – and now the plan is 40’s and rain. Sigh. But we’re turning that frown upside down, friends. You with me?  Because that means getting all the indoor projects wrapped up (and a deep clean to boot) so we won’t be feeling guilty for spending every minute outside when spring finally graces us with her presence. You know what else brightens a gloomy afternoon? The #NixonPack Nice List. And she’s extra glowy today:

  1. I am always on the hunt for thoughtful gift ideas. Whether it be for clients closing on a new home, a birthday or housewarming gift, or even (ahem, especially) a little something for yourself. I stumbled upon these gorgeous maps on my instagram feed this week and they had me at Chicago. The lines and the colors they use are stunning and make for such beautiful pieces to grace your walls. Imagine how fun it would be to surprise a loved one with a map of their old stomping grounds, or celebrate a big move they just made? Friends of the Pack get an extra treat – Wayfinder Creative is giving us 20% off! Use code NIXONPACK20.
  2. Love Notes. I wrote a love note the other day to my Grandpa Darlin’ just because. Well, the “just because” was actually because Grandma has been nagging him something fierce and I felt like he needed some extra love. The feeling you get when you send something that you just know will bring a smile to someone else’s face is second to none. Have you seen Annie Taylor’s notecards? I’m coming for you Spanish Tile Collection. Swoon. They are so darn sweet. And I just melt every time I see an insta story of the lunch notes she packs for her kiddos. Go check out her feed on instagram @annietaylordesign (#momboss!) and you’ll be sending handwritten sweetness to everyone you know.
  3. You guys, I may have said a time or two that I am not a fan of fridge magnets. It turned out to be way more polarizing than I was ready for, by the way. Well guess who’s singing a different tune? I am willing to issue a mini retraction for that statement with these gems as the only exception. As you know, I love anything customizable and holy cow they’re fun. Again, a great gift that you know darn well the recipient doesn’t already have. And the dogs?! Stop it right now.
  4. Living Accent Wall. If you’ve been following for a minute, you know I am a wannabe plant lady. My thumb is nowhere near green, but I don’t mind having a blue one. The bigger problem I’m up against is Jon. He is an anti-plantman. But that aside, I am making a plant wall happen and I think I’ve found just the place for it. My MIL is an insanely talented florist and went to a fancy nancy floral show and sent me all the inspo for a wall of hanging orchids. What?! That’s what my dreams are made of. Think of the air you’ll bring to your lungs, the beauty to your home, the possibilities year-round.
  5. Jute for Spring. I recently followed our own advice about spring cleaning swaps and replaced the rugs in our home. An annual must when you’re the proud parents of five rescue pups. We went with this one for the living room, this little lovely for the library, and this fun splash for our entry. I love the texture they bring, the playfulness, and a cohesive look for the first floor.

So grateful you stopped over for a minute to brighten our day! Tell us what made your Nice List this week in the comments. We love coming across new gems!
