Nesting

No, we are not pregnant. And no, the title was not meant as clickbait. But in reality, I have been nesting so hard. There’s something about the change in seasons, particularly the transition from summer to fall, that gives a gravitational pull toward all things cozy and warm. Here are some of the not so obvious, but simple swaps I’m making around the house to layer in the love as the leaves start to change.

Baking pedestals, because, hello, it’s apple season. I also think these are such versatile design pieces when you don’t have time to bake. You can add a vase of flowers on top for instant fanciness. Or those apples you haven’t yet transformed into a pie can be stacked into a pyramid…the opportunities are endless.

Candleholders, but not just for candles. I’m not actually big into candles to begin with, but love using the pillars for pumpkins or gourds. Bonus points if you can source some lovely vintage holders. Imagine a grouping on your dining table with all different heights, shapes and materials. Swoon!

Fuzzy Feet. When you think about friends coming to stay over, you immediately check the linen closet to make sure you’ve stocked up on extra toothbrushes, right? If you want to take your guest experience to a whole new level, invest in some slippers or cozy socks. I plan to wrap some sweet ribbon around these and include them in the welcome basket!

Coffee Invite. Some of my favorite pieces to layer in a home are coffee table books. Right now I’m eyeing this one and that one too. A few we have and love are this one, and this sweet little diddy. Sidebar: Martyn Lawrence Bullard called me delicious in an interview once and he’s had my heart ever since.) They’re great to leaf through, fun conversation starters. and can be used in a stack to add depth or pop to a vignette.

Freckles aren’t just for summer. I’ve always been a sucker for freckles and when I found these hand-thrown creations I fell in love. All that sweetness dipped in actual gold?! Yes, please!

We can’t wait to see all the ways you add those fabulous fall vibes into your home. Share with the Pack below!
